At Little Gaddesden School, the role of the PTA is wider than in many other schools – it is a registered charity, ‘The Friends of Little Gaddesden School’. Our objective is not only to raise money for the school, but also to forge links within the local community and organisations. The Friends could not survive without the support from parents, carers and the wider community.
We have had a fun packed term, with the Summer Fete taking place in partnership with The Gaddesden Society in celebration of HM The Queen’s 90th Birthday. Whilst the typical British summer weather tried to throw a damper over the day, it was lovely to see so many people come along to support us, so thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success. It was a great day and thankfully the worst of the rain held off during the afternoon for the wonderful maypole dancing by Class 2 and 3. We would like to say a special thank you to Neil Masters for supporting The Friends by supplying and cooking the hog roast on the day.
We have some upcoming events next term, which are open to everyone to enjoy. The first is the bonfire and fireworks at October House, which are being held on Sunday November 6th. Tickets will be on sale in the village shop as usual. The second is a pre-Christmas shopping event, taking place on Friday November 18th at the school from 7.00pm to 10.00pm. Please come along and see if you can get some early Christmas presents. There will be a fabulous range of local suppliers attending the event selling luxury items such as Fox Dent Gin, handmade candles, clothes, locally produced food and homeware. It would be lovely to see you there.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their ongoing support with our fundraising activities to help support the village school.
