Friday 9 September – Short Service in Church at 2pm

There will be a short, informal service of prayers, readings and music in Little Gaddesden Church at 2pm to mark the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Saturday 10 September – Nettleden Duathlon 10am to midday

The Nettleden Duathlon is organised by a group of friends from Aldbury and starts in the grounds of Nettleden Lodge.

The Duathlon is run in order to raise funds for the following two very worthwhile charities; Harrison’s Fund and Cancer Research UK.   100% of the entry fees are donated to the charities – i.e. no deductions are made for running costs.

The cycle route will go from Nettleden, through Little Gaddesden, Ringshall, Ivinghoe, Aldbury and back through Little Gaddesden to Nettleden.

As a result there will be an increased number of bikes on the road on Saturday morning between around 10am and midday.  So please all be aware, take care, and be kind.

Those wishing to know more, or perhaps enter, please go to: www.nettledenduathlon.co.uk

Thank you.

UPDATE: Saturday 10 September Village Sports Day Cancelled

HM Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022

Following the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, and out of respect for members of the Royal Family and a nation in mourning, we have taken the reluctant decision to cancel the Village Sports Day, scheduled to have taken place tomorrow, 10th September.

In recognition of the Queen’s lifetime of dedicated service, The Gaddesden Society will introduce a new trophy, to be awarded at future sports days as ‘The Queen Elizabeth II Cup’.
