Thursday 3 October – Rural Heritage Society AGM and Talk, Village Hall, 7.30pm

After the short formal part of the meeting, we are pleased to welcome Gary Fisher as our speaker.  Gary is a historian and will give a talk on the “Life of Elizabeth I“.  As many of you will know, Elizabeth was closely associated with Ashridge House where she lived as Princess Elizabeth and indeed owned the property.

All members and potential members are welcome. Wine and nibbles will be served.

Saturday 5 October – Village Produce Market, Village Hall, 9.30am to midday

Lots of lovely varied produce, crafts, bric a brac, plants, candles and much more besides. And why not treat yourself to a delicious egg and bacon bap with a cuppa for just £3.50.

Come along for a browse and cuppa. Everyone welcome.

Saturday 19 October – Councillor Terry Douris at the Bridgewater Arms, 10.00am to 10.30am

Terry Douris, Dacorum and Hertfordshire County Councillor, will be at the Bridgewater Arms from 10.00am to 10.30am should you have any local issues you wish to discuss with him.

Monday 21 October – Parish Council Meeting, 7.30pm, Village Hall

Parish Council meeting at the Village Hall.

All welcome.

Thursday 31 October – Gaddesden Society AGM and talk, 8.15pm, Village Hall

Postponed from September due to unforeseen circumstances, the Gaddesden Society will be holding its (brief) AGM, followed with a talk by our very own Committee member, Josie Jeffrey. She will be telling the “Secrets of a Store Detective”.

We do please ask that as many as possible attend this meeting as we need to amend our constitution which requires a quorum at the AGM of 35 attendees. In fact, this high quorum number is one of the things we want to amend! Please see our Constitution page for the current amendment proposals.

Everyone welcome – £1 entry fee (minimum) includes wine and cheese.

Little Gaddesden Charities Fund

Established in 1997 (as a combination of a number of established local charities), the Little Gaddesden charities has supported individuals and families in Little Gaddesden Parish for 25 years.

The charities’ sole purpose is to help individuals or families resident in the parish with small one-off requests for financial support.

The committee are aware that local parishioners may or may not be aware of the charities and wish to promote the purpose to all residents.

Requests for support are made by either contacting The Revd John Russell on 01442 214898 or by emailing vicar@littlegaddesdenchurch.org.uk. John chairs the charities’ small committee of trustees based on his role within the Parish.

In such a period of financial uncertainty and with the cost of living crisis it is even more important to ensure that members of the Parish are aware of the support availability, and we would welcome being able to provide more support from funds available.

All requests are treated with the utmost confidence and no personal information is shared.

We would also welcome any local organisations providing information of how to access the charity in any wider communications they may undertake.
