Friday 23 January – 1st Little Gaddesden Burns Night Supper and Ceilidh, Village Hall, 7pm till late

Friday 23rd January 2026.

Join us for a lively night of Scottish tradition, dance, and community spirit at our village Burns Night celebration on Friday, January 23rd, in the Village Hall. Whether you’re a ceilidh regular or a first-timer, this is your chance to experience an unforgettable evening, all while raising money for the 1st Little Gaddesden Scout Group.

We will “pipe in the haggis” with full Scottish pomp and a free wee dram of whisky – a highlight you won’t want to miss! A delicious traditional Burns Night supper will follow, featuring haggis, neeps and tatties, prepared to warm and delight your taste buds.  Vegetarian haggis will also be available.

Then the Berkhamsted Strathspey & Reel Club will lead the Scottish ceilidh dancing.  From reels to jigs, the ceilidh is all about infectious energy and plenty of laughter.  Our experienced caller will guide you through the steps along with demonstrations by the club members, so no experience is needed — just bring your enthusiasm and flat dancing shoes!

A touch of tartan encouraged, so we’re looking forward to a sea of kilts, scarves, and sashes adding to the Scottish spirit.  Throughout the night, take a chance on our raffle for some great prizes, with all proceeds going to support our village Scout group.

Tickets available here.

Little Gaddesden Charities Fund

Established in 1997 (as a combination of a number of established local charities), the Little Gaddesden charities has supported individuals and families in Little Gaddesden Parish for over 25 years.

The charities’ sole purpose is to help individuals or families resident in the parish with small one-off requests for financial support.

The committee are aware that local parishioners may or may not be aware of the charities and wish to promote the purpose to all residents.

Requests for support are made by contacting The Revd John Russell either on 07950 105802 or by emailing john_russell@live.co.uk. John continues to chair the charities’ small committee of trustees.

In such a period of financial uncertainty and with the cost of living crisis it is even more important to ensure that members of the Parish are aware of the support availability, and we would welcome being able to provide more support from funds available.

All requests are treated with the utmost confidence and no personal information is shared.

We would also welcome any local organisations providing information of how to access the charity in any
