Friends of Little Gaddesden School
At Little Gaddesden Church of England Primary School, the role of the PTA is wider than in many other schools – it is a registered charity, The Friends of Little Gaddesden School (“FOLGS” or just “the Friends”). Our objectives are not only to raise money for the school, but also to forge links within the local community and organisations. The Friends could not survive without support from parents, carers and the wider community.
About the Friends
FOLGS is a charity, run by parents, that supports Little Gaddesden C of E Primary School. Our parents are major contributors to the charity, as are our local community, through the support and time they give to organising and attending fundraising events. The funds raised go directly to the school to enhance the educational experience of our children.
We run many events throughout the year for our school children, families and the wider community. These vary from Christmas and Summer Fairs, Easter Egg Hunts, Cake Sales, Film Nights to Black Tie Balls and Fitness Events. Please check our website (www.friendsoflgschool.org) and our main Facebook page (facebook.com/friendsoflittlegaddesdenschool/) for regular updates.
In 2018 we took on the running of the established Gaddesden Gallop – a 5k and 10k race around the wonderful local countryside – for the first time. The event is well supported by avid and local runners alike, and continues to be a highlight of the FOLGS annual events calendar. For updates on the event please follow our dedicated Gaddesden Gallop Facebook page: facebook.com/gaddesdengallop2021/.
The role of our PTA is critical in providing much needed financial and time resources to ensure the highest level of educational provision for our children. Our amazing teachers can only do so much in the time they have. Our support means they can focus on delivering their expertise – teaching.
You can find out more about the projects we are looking to help fund on the Projects page of our website.
Raising funds is a challenge. Our search for much needed event prizes and sponsorship means we need to draw on the support of our local community. To these people and businesses we are most grateful.
