Royal British Legion – Little Gaddesden Branch
The Royal British Legion has a very active Branch in Little Gaddesden. Whilst our main focus is on raising money for, and increasing awareness of the importance of the Poppy, we hold informal monthly suppers at a local pub, a more formal annual event at Ashridge Golf Club and a very popular Christmas dinner. Remembrance Sunday is of course the principal focus of our year, and it sees us form the centrepiece of the Service on the Village Green in November when we congregate as a community in front of our War Memorial and read out the names of those from the village area who ‘Gave their today for our tomorrow’.
There is absolutely no need for members ever to have worn a uniform; just an awareness and appreciation of the frequently unsung role our serving Forces play in the protection of our way of life.
