At Little Gaddesden School, the role of the PTA is wider than in many other schools, as it is a registered charity - The Friends of Little Gaddesden School (‘The Friends’). Our objectives are not only to raise money for the school, but also to forge links within the local community and organisations. The Friends could not survive without support from parents, carers and the wider community.
After a busy Summer Term, we have had a quieter Autumn term. We would, however, like to thank Rebecca and Matthew Hargreaves, who kindly let us host our Fireworks Party again at October House. This, as usual, was a great village event, which raised much needed funds for the school. We would like to thank all the organisations who sponsored the event and everyone who came along and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
We are looking forward to holding our Christmas Bazaar this year on December 1st at the school between 12.00noon and 2.30pm. This is always a great event, with lots of activities for the children, food and a bar, stalls, tombola, a silent auction and a raffle, with some great prizes. Also there may be a special visit from the big man himself in our wonderful Christmas Grotto. This event is open to anyone in the village and all children, not just those attending the school, so we look forward to seeing you there.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their ongoing support with our fundraising activities to help support the village school. There will be more events throughout 2019 to look forward to.
