Saturday 2 March – Village Produce Market, Village Hall, 9.30am to midday

1st Market of the Year! New stalls and regulars, plus yummy breakfast baps and great company. Do come along.


Saturday 16 March – Councillor Terry Douris at the Bridgewater Arms, 10.00am to 10.30am

Terry Douris, Dacorum and Hertfordshire County Councillor, will be at the Bridgewater Arms from 10.00am to 10.30am should you have any local issues you wish to discuss with him.


Saturday 16 March – 1st Little Gaddesden Scouts’ Jumble Sale, Village Hall, 10am to midday

The famous 1st Little Gaddesden Scout Group Jumble Sale is BACK!  It will be held at the Village Hall on Saturday 16th March, from 10am – 12pm.  Tea, coffee and bacon rolls will be available!  Only £1 entry.  If you would like to donate any jumble, bake a cake, offer help, or need any further info, please contact either Linda on (01442) 842512 or Glenda on (01442) 842505.

Thursday 28 March – Gaddesden Society Talk, Village Hall, 8.15pm

The Greatest Survival Story Ever Told. Geoff Selley will be recreating the original Lantern Slide lecture of Shackleton’s 1914-17 Antartic Expedition. Geoff is the current custodian of a talk which has been handed down in direct succession from Dr. Hussey, one of the original expedition members.

Everyone welcome – entry fee £1 minimum including wine and cheese.


Thursday 11 April – FoLG Curry and Quiz Night, Village Hall, 7.00pm to 9.30pm

The Friends of Little Gaddesden School are hosting a Quiz and Curry Night on Thursday 11th April, from 7pm – 9:30pm!  Tickets are £15 each and includes entry to the quiz and a chicken or vegetable curry, and drinks will be available to purchase at very reasonable prices!  Teams should be made up of no more than 8 people.  Please email friendsoflgschool@gmail.com to secure your places!


Thursday 25 April – LG Folk, Roots & Blues Club, 7pm, Little Gaddesden Church

FOLK NIGHT!

We are delighted to welcome the fabulous Lady Nade to our NEW VENUE FOR 2024, the intimate and atmospheric Little Gaddesden Church!

Lady Nade will be appearing with her trio on Thursday 25th April 2024.  With nominations for Artist of the Year at the AMAUK Awards in 2023 and a Song of the Year win at the UK Americana Awards in 2022, Lady Nade stands as one of the UK’s most distinctive voices. She is an award-winning songstress of extraordinary caliber.

Lady Nade’s music defies easy categorization, blending Folk, Americana, Soul, Jazz, Blues, and Roots, into a captivating tapestry – a perfect fit for our folk, roots and blues club!  Her compositions explore themes of love, friendship, loss, and hope, resonating with a global audience. Each song is a work of art, accompanied by a recipe crafted to mirror each of her song’s essence.

Little Gaddesden Charities Fund

Established in 1997 (as a combination of a number of established local charities), the Little Gaddesden charities has supported individuals and families in Little Gaddesden Parish for 25 years.

The charities’ sole purpose is to help individuals or families resident in the parish with small one-off requests for financial support.

The committee are aware that local parishioners may or may not be aware of the charities and wish to promote the purpose to all residents.

Requests for support are made by either contacting The Revd John Russell on 01442 214898 or by emailing vicar@littlegaddesdenchurch.org.uk. John chairs the charities’ small committee of trustees based on his role within the Parish; alternatively Pat Catchpole (01442 842544) as secretariat.

In such a period of financial uncertainty and with the cost of living crisis it is even more important to ensure that members of the Parish are aware of the support availability, and we would welcome being able to provide more support from funds available.

All requests are treated with the utmost confidence and no personal information is shared.

We would also welcome any local organisations providing information of how to access the charity in any wider communications they may undertake.
